Operation Honor

While developing the goals for our chapter, we decided that part of our mission is to give back to the community.  In keeping with these goals, CSI Cincinnati has designated Operation Honor as our charity organization for 2019.

Operation Honor was formed over 10 years ago when a group of veterans and patriots decided to give something back. They began paying disabled veterans to make custom tailgating equipment and then shipped it to our troops all over the world. To better convey their mission, they became Operation Honor.  They now hire veterans to hand-craft flag cases to sell and donate to our veteran cemeteries across the nation.

On Veterans Day 2016 they delivered their first six veteran-made burial flag cases to Arlington National Cemetery and have been making them for patriots all over America ever since.

At our November 2018 Educon event, CSI Cincinnati presented Joe Montgomery, founder of Operation Honor, a check for $2,500.00 (See thank you letter below).  As Joe explained what Operation Honor does, one of our exhibitors, Glenny Glass, offered to provide the glass for the burial flag cases that Operation Honor makes!  This type of networking is one of the many things that makes CSI great!

Operation Honor is now embarking on another mission, Patriot’s Point.  This project is a vision of a 30 - 50-acre rural veterans complex in Northern Kentucky.  The project will include a veteran’s museum, conference center, and workshop/training facility.  Mike Kohus, of our chapter volunteered to help create a professional presentation to share with old and new supporters of their mission.

Products with a Purpose

The mission of Operation Honor is to create an environment for veterans to actively engage in meaningful and impactful opportunities to enhance their lives. Expanding their Products with a Purpose program with a custom furniture shop will continue to help our veteran population find meaning and purpose through developing job ready skills, and a fellowship that will help them heal. They will be creating custom wood-working products in their shop such as conference tables, custom desks and work stations, reception desks, and many other custom woodwork items.

If you are designing any custom woodworking items into your projects, we ask the you consider allowing Operation Honor the chance to bid on these items.
