This presentation provides an overview of the estimating process from budgeting to bidding. It identifies the steps of the budget process, as well as the differences between the budget versus the bid estimates. This session also compares and contrasts the various costing resources, and the purpose and functionality uses of each. This presentation is intended for A/E Firms, Owners, and cost consultants.

Assistant Vice President - Chief Estimator, J.S. Held, LLC
Lyn has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry as a Chief Estimator, Project Manager, and as a trouble shooter. Upon graduation, Lyn returned to Cincinnati to work as an estimator for a local general contractor. He then worked internationally for a design/build contractor as an estimator/project manager. Lyn also worked for several specialty contractors as their Chief Estimator and/or project manager, working nationally as well as locally. Lyn also worked as a project manager on several large and complex government projects. With J.S. Held, Lyn provides project cost estimating, cost control, and management on complex projects.
